Tom Miskowski has an extensive and diverse career and educational background that has allowed him to mentor and lead the home office team and Kitchen Solvers into growth and development. With his Bachelor of Arts in Business and Accounting and Master of Business Administration, along with extensive financial and operational experience, he has a passion for financial security, strategic growth, and installation efficiencies.

Franchise Chatter (FC) Can you start by sharing a bit about your professional journey? What led you to Kitchen Solvers and the franchising world?

Tom Miskowski (TM): My career has been a mix of leadership roles across different industries. In corporate America, I was president at Century Foods International and also served as chief operating officer for Cytosport/Muscle Milk. These roles shaped my leadership approach and reinforced my passion for helping businesses and people thrive.

Back in 2010, Wade Nolte and I took the leap and purchased Kitchen Solvers. Fast forward to November 2022, and I was honored to step into the role of president. Before that, I spent over 12 years dedicated to growing and evolving Kitchen Solvers, with a strong focus on franchise support and development. Now, as president, my main priority is driving success through three key areas: franchisee satisfaction, innovation, and strong per-unit performance. My philosophy is simple, I constantly ask myself, ‘If I were opening a franchise location, what would I expect, need, and want from my franchisor?’ That mindset guides everything I do.

FC: Walk through your day-to-day operations. What do you do for the company?

TM: As president of Kitchen Solvers, my focus every day is on supporting our franchisees and helping them succeed. I prioritize franchisee satisfaction, innovation, and improving their profit margins to ensure every location has the resources, guidance, and support needed to thrive. I also work heavily on the franchise development side to grow our geographical footprint. In my opinion, Kitchen Solvers succeeds by bringing in new franchise partners, supporting our existing franchise partners, and having a strong core home office.

With my background in finance and operations, I bring a strong foundation in business strategy and efficiency. My day-to-day responsibilities include mentoring franchisees on growth and financial business decisions. At the heart of everything I do is a franchisee-first mindset—I constantly ask myself what I would need and expect from a franchisor if I were in their shoes. That perspective drives my leadership and commitment to making Kitchen Solvers the best possible partner for our franchisees.

FC: How many Kitchen Solvers locations are currently operating?

TM: We have 60 locations. As we celebrate over 40 years in business, we’re not just growing, we are also evolving to offer our franchise partners with industry-leading training, marketing, and operational tools, thus ensuring their success in a competitive market.

FC: What do you have in store for 2025?

TM: At Kitchen Solvers, 2025 is set to be a transformational year as we build on the incredible momentum from 2024. We’re expanding our footprint nationwide, with a strong focus on growing our presence in California and across the nation. Our commitment to innovation remains a top priority, as we continue to enhance our custom cabinetry offerings and leverage our groundbreaking AI software to streamline the design process for both homeowners and franchisees. Despite rising material costs, we’re dedicated to keeping pricing stable while delivering high-quality remodeling solutions.

FC: Any exciting developments, deals, products or developments you can tease for the future of Kitchen Solvers?

TM: Kitchen Solvers has invested in a design and sales tool that uses AI to measure and optimize layouts to create a 3D rendering design for homeowners. This tool allows our franchise partners to go into a consumer’s home, even without having years of remodeling experience under their belts. As long as they are able to talk to clients and ask the right questions, which the tool guides them through, they can work together to create a stunning custom design for each homeowner.

Once the homeowner sees the realistic design of their own kitchen, upgraded and transformed, they are so excited to move forward with the project. It takes what used to take a very well-versed subject matter expert to understand all the parts and pieces of the kitchen, and simplifies it into a catalog that filters in the best choices for their home.

Additionally, Kitchen Solvers has vertically integrated and introduced it’s own manufactured custom cabinetry line. This line was born out of necessity to have more of the quality and pricing within our control. We no longer have to solely rely on vendors who can adjust pricing and quality. Now we have full control over the cabinetry we create, and we manufacture that right out of our new Home Office in La Crosse, Wisconsin. With this cabinet line, franchisees never have to say no to a client. The options are endless!
